The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound scans and following departmental protocols for documentation and patient care. They must maintain equipment, review films for technical quality, and perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist as needed.
Candidates must be graduates of an ARDMS sanctioned school of ultrasound and a JRCERT approved school of radiology technology. Required certifications include BLS and ARDMS in Abdomen or Obstetrics/Gynecologic, with a minimum of 6 months of experience.
The Ultrasound Technologist uses specialized ultrasound equipment, takes images of the appropriate areas of the anatomy using scanning technique that results in high quality diagnostic images as requested by the physician. The Ultrasound Technologist follows departmental protocol as it relates to documentation, comparison, consent, and other information needed for interpretation and appropriate patient care.
