The Dosing Nurse dispenses medication to patients in the methadone treatment program and monitors their health status. Responsibilities include documenting nursing notes, conducting patient education, and collaborating with the Medical Director and treatment team.
Requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a valid RN license in the State of Michigan. Candidates must have at least one year of professional clinical nursing experience and BLS/CPR certification.

This position is eligible for a $2,500 sign on bonus! Muskegon Recovery Center provides medication-assisted treatment (including methadone and Suboxone) for patients who have opiate addictions. The LPN/RN Dosing Nurse dispenses medication to our patients primarily in the methadone treatment program – monitoring health status, documenting nursing notes, communicating with the Medical Director, and participating as part of the overall treatment team. This is a part time, benefit eligible position working between 6 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with a rotation of 6 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. every other Saturday. This position is 32 hours per week (4 days and every other Saturday morning).
Complete patient assessments, provide education, and schedule appointments both telephonically and in person. Use knowledge and approved protocols to advise patients and parents on care plans. Conduct one-on-one or family patient education sessions. Ensure appropriate follow-up call-backs are made for patients. Assist in coordinating services for patients and families with other health-related agencies and resources. Participate in interdisciplinary planning to meet patient needs and health service objectives. Document nursing actions in medical records using defined standards. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines. Participate in the quality assurance program. Provide translation services when needed. Adhere to CSHS compliance standards as outlined in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy. Stay updated on pertinent federal, state, and CSHS regulations, laws, and policies. Ensure that staff members are trained and evaluated on compliance policies specific to their roles. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Michigan.
