Must hold an M.D. or D.O. degree with a valid Alabama State License and DEA registration. Board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine and completion of a relevant residency are required.

PCPs are expected to treat a wide range of medical conditions, develop long-term, personal relationships with their patients, produce individualized healthcare programs based on patient historical data, and offer continuous support and health management advice. No Obstetrics Laboratory services on-site No admitting; No nights Educating patients in health management and disease prevention. Support the development and implementation of evidence-based practice guidelines; Provide appropriate patient education; Participate in medical staff peer review process, performance improvement, continuing education, risk management and Clinical Indicator selection; When appropriate, assist clinical personnel in their evaluation of phone calls and determining appropriate disposition; Promote continuity of patient care by interacting and collaborating with other members of the healthcare team. Minimum Required Education, Experience & Skills Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) required; current State of Alabama License in good standing. Board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine required. Valid DEA required. Completion of a family practice/internal medicine residency. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Caring, attentive nature. Possess a working understanding and support of a managed care environment. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and maintain relationships with various health plans. Physical & Mental Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 50 pounds of force Ability to sit for extended periods of time Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving Ability to travel to multiple locations to support business needs as required
