• We are seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife for a short-term contract supporting the Department of Defense at U.S.
• Naval Hospital Okinawa, its Associated Branch Health Clinics, and the U.S.
• Naval Dental Center Okinawa (3rd Dental Battalion) in Okinawa, Japan.

Position Title: Certified Nurse Midwife Essential

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform a broad range of duties as a Certified Nurse Midwife in accordance with commercial best practices, local, federal, and agency-wide guidance. Provide comprehensive primary care to women from menarche through menopause. Plan and manage prenatal, postpartum, well woman gynecologic, family planning and pre-conceptual care. Participate in the care of women with medical complications. Consultation, collaboration and referral with Obstetricians-Gynecologists. Manage the care of normal antepartum women to include teaching, counseling and support. Take a health history and perform and record the obstetrical physical evaluation. Collect, document, and evaluate patient data. Assess patient needs, formulate, and implement a plan of care for each patient consistent with established guidelines. Manage antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum care. Perform the following: manage and control normal spontaneous deliveries; record the labor and delivery. Maintain all required patient records and report pertinent information. Prescribe medications, as required, in accordance with MTF privileges. Education & Experience Requirements Must possess a Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution. Be a graduate from a certified nurse midwife education program accredited by the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM). Must possess certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board Must hold a full, current, valid, unrestricted license (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) in a State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia that abides by the State requirements of the location of performance.
