Provide safe basic care including taking vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, and collecting specimens. Maintain patient charts and communicate with the care team to ensure continuity of care and patient well-being.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Candidates should possess strong communication, computer, and analytical skills.
The Nursing Assistant will provide safe basic care along the care team including RN, LPN, and PCT which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes, repositioning, feeding, etc . Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and supportive services needed for specified group of patients in assigned areas, for all age groups, which will contribute to the comfort and well-being of the patient.
