The Surgical Technologist prepares and provides sterile instruments and equipment for invasive procedures while maintaining the sterile field. They collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and ensure optimal patient outcomes through precise instrument management.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and have completed a Surgical Technologist Program. Current American Heart Association BLS certification and various state clearances for PA, DE, and NJ are required.
The surgical technologist facilitates the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies and equipment. Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.
This primary position at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Surgery Center, Malvern will include collaboration with the Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware and Nemours Children’s Hospital, Surgery Center, Deptford to optimize available resources in achieving optimal patient outcomes. This position may require periodic rotation to these facilities. Travel is compensated based on organizational policy.
This position is expected to maintain all state and federal clearances for PA, DE, and NJ for periodic rotation to the facilities in Delaware and New Jersey at the discretion of Perioperative Leadership. This includes current Pennsylvania (PA) FBI Fingerprint Report, PA Criminal Background Record, and PA Child Abuse Clearance.
This position requires working shifts aligned with the needs of the department and the assigned FTE of the surgical technologist
