Short Description The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.

Overview The Maternal Fetal Care Unit consists of 9 beds.
This unit specializes in the care of antepartum patients with a variety of diagnoses.
These include preterm premature rupture of membranes, preeclampsia, preterm labor, and diabetes.
This unit also cares for pregnant and post-partum patients with complicated medical diagnoses in addition to their pregnancy, including but not limited to cardiac complications, sickle cell disease, and substance use disorder.
Experience Required MUST HAVE MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS REGISTERED NURSE EXPERIENCE IN MED SURG OR OTHER COMPARABLE UNIT.
Education Requirements Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing.
License/Certification Requirements Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse); Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers); certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e.
Acls, nals, pals).
Special Requirements MUST HAVE MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS REGISTERED NURSE EXPERIENCE IN MED SURG OR OTHER COMPARABLE UNIT.
Level Two Pool Work Requirements: Nurses shall work at least three (3) weekend shifts per six (6) week schedule, and six other shifts per six (6) week schedule, which must include four(4) holiday shifts per year (two (2) winter and two (2) summer).
Weekend shifts are defined as Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday for night shift and Saturday/Sunday for the day shift; the 3rd weekend shift can be the RNs choice.
Nurses must schedule themselves for the full shift, as assigned, in order to meet these work requirements.
