• Starting wage: $23.00–$27.00/hour, based on licensure level (ACLC or LAC) and experience. The range is flexible and may be negotiable for highly experienced applicants. Oversight of hours offered for candidate-licensure staff.

Training

• Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a one-week orientation, where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for taking on your role. This first week is 9am-5pm at our Alternatives Training Center. Continual on-going training is provided to all our staff to keep them current on their roles, industry standards, and contractual compliance. What Skills do you need? Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field and two years’ experience in field of substance abuse counseling is preferred. Must be Montana State Licensed Addictions Counselor Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor – or be certifiable within one year, certified in another state which is transferable, or National certification. Must be able to pass federal workplace drug screening and background check. Must hold valid driver’s license.

• Compass team:The Compass program of Alternatives, Inc. is an outpatient treatment program that was established in 2018 to expand our client services. Compass programming includes Substance Abuse Disorder and Mental Health treatment, Partner Family Member Assault programming, Anger Management, Criminal Thinking Error groups, and the ACT/Prime for Life program. The team is led by an experienced Clinical Director who has been with the Agency for over 5 years and has vast experience in treatment and social services. She oversees the Compass team comprised of, LACs, LCPCs, and Treatment Coordinators. You will be joining a team whose members have long-term experience in the field of behavioral health and share a passion for helping others achieve their full potential They look forward to meeting you, soon! What will you do in this position?As the Licensed Addiction Counselor, you will oversee a caseload of your own, providing treatment to individuals and overseeing groups. You will regularly review client files to determine evaluation needs, administer SUD assessments, and make recommendations regarding chemical dependency issues and referrals. Coordinate with pre-release centers, probation officers, and other referral sources to ensure offender’s termination from programs is completed. Public relations skills are a must. Ensuring proper and timely documentation is paramount to the role, as well as meeting deadlines and ensuring compliance with contracts. Attend meetings, as required.
