Nursing Assistant–Surgical-Telemetry/Ortho, 3GH Location: Baptist Health Lexington – Lexington, KY Schedule: Part-time | 3rd Shift (Nights) | 12-hour shifts SUMMARY Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant II provides direct patient care and support services to patients and families. This role performs selected nursing procedures and routine patient care to assist nursing personnel in treatment, comfort, and safety. UNIT DESCRIPTION 3G/H is a 37-bed telemetry/medical surgical unit specializing in but not limited to orthopedic/neuro/spine patients. . The unit serves as a secondary stroke unit as well as general cardiac/telemetry patients. The patients are transferred in from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from MD offices. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide hands-on care to postpartum mothers and newborns
Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, hygiene)
Take and record vital signs accurately
Perform blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, venipuncture, and specimen collection as delegated
Support ambulation, transfers, and postpartum recovery needs
Respond promptly to patient/family needs and call lights
Maintain patient safety, dignity, and privacy
Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions of care
Participate in unit tasks including restocking supplies, linen management, and basic clerical duties MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School Diploma or GED required Licensure/Certification:
Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required OR completion of first year of nursing school with successful clinical validation
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred but not required Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a care team
