Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiothoracic Surgery Clinic Location: La Crosse, WI Schedule: Full-Time (0.9 FTE) – 72 hours every two weeks Hours: 8-hour shifts between 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM No weekends, holidays, or call Position Overview Join a specialized, close-knit cardiothoracic surgery team where nurses play a central role in guiding patients through their care journey.
In this clinic-based role, you will build strong relationships with patients and serve as their primary point of contact as they move through consult, surgery planning, and monitoring.
What You Will Do Manage phone triage, in-basket messages, and patient communication Partner with providers during clinic consults to support care planning and surgical readiness Assist with surgical scheduling, including coordinating pre-operative testing and delivering patient education Conduct post-operative follow-up calls to assess recovery and address patient needs Serve as a consistent point of contact during the surgical journey Support patients in the Aortic Surveillance Program Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, including lung conference What You Need RN license to work in Wisconsin Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing Minimum 1 year RN experience Cardiology knowledge required What you will get: Starting pay of $31.98 + more for experience Build strong relationships with patients - they know and rely on their nurses throughout care Be an expert in the cardiac specialty of cardiothoracic surgery Close-knit, collaborative, team-oriented environment Support to grow in your career with access to our Career Development Center and Tuition Investment Program Top-rated retirement plan and healthcare benefits Emplify Health, a partnership of Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System, is a leading not-for-profit, patient-centered healthcare network based in Green Bay and La Crosse, Wisconsin.
