LPN, GI Department - Days

• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides quality patient care by performing treatments and procedures according to established protocols.
• Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment Administers specified medications as allowed by policy and procedure, licensure, and State Practice Act.
• Responds in a safe and timely manner to patient requests and reports significant observations to the RN promptly.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the patient's plan of care and delivers care safely and within established standards and guidelines.
• Participates in planning for patient's care by providing input to the RN and under the direction of the RN, assists in implementing the patient care plan.
• Demonstrates knowledge of established hospital and nursing policies.
• Identifies emergency situations, initiates nursing measures as appropriate within scope of practice in emergency situations and seeks assistance and direction as necessary.
• Instructs patients in self-care according to the teaching plan and the directions of the RN.
• Documents this aspect of the patient's care.
• Participates in QA & I.
• EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Graduate of an accredited LPN Program OR Wisconsin: Have completed the portion of the RN Program needed to obtain a certificate of completion in practical nursing.

Illinois

• Have completed the designated curriculum of a Ladder Option Approved Designated RN Program. Experience in clinical setting preferred. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in state of practice Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES N/A LEVEL OF SUPERVISION Work is performed according to specific procedures and methods, but the incumbent must make minor decisions in order to adapt to routine situation.
