The role involves performing sample processing, exempt screening, and monitoring tests according to regulatory standards. Additionally, the assistant performs venipunctures and assists technical staff with non-clinical tasks.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with no prior experience necessary. Preference is given to candidates with phlebotomy certification and experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory settings.
Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
