Act as a scrub person during surgical and endoscopic procedures, anticipating surgeon needs and maintaining a sterile environment. Collaborate with RNs to provide high-quality care and ensure accurate counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
Must be a graduate of an approved Surgical Technology program with BLS certification. Requires at least 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist and availability for Monday-Friday day shifts.
In this role, you will act as a scrub person during surgical and endoscopic procedures, providing high-quality patient care services for a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric. You will work in close collaboration with the Registered Nurse (RN) to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of care, while adhering to standards of clinical practice and patient safety. Serve as a scrub person during operative/endo procedures. Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and provide appropriate instruments, sutures, and specialty items. Maintain aseptic technique throughout all sterile procedures. Assist in the proper identification and handling of specimens. Ensure accurate sponge, sharps, and instrument counts are completed. Act promptly and effectively in emergency situations. Adjust care to reflect the developmental level and cultural differences of the patient population. Communicate respectfully and maintain a safe and secure environment. Engage in patient education as needed, based on an assessment of patient and caregiver learning needs. Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies, procedures, and standards. Participate in fostering a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking. Required Qualifications: Graduated from an approved Surgical Technology program BLS for health care providers 2 years of experience working as a surgical technologist Must be available to work Monday-Friday, day shifts
