Your Role as a Clinical Pharmacist As a Part-Time Clinical Pharmacist, you will provide clinical pharmacy services that promote safe and effective medication use throughout the hospital.
You will serve as a medication expert and consultant to providers, nursing staff, and leadership while helping ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, DEA, Louisiana Board of Pharmacy, and other regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include: Reviewing medication orders for appropriateness, safety, and therapeutic effectiveness.
Providing clinical recommendations regarding psychotropic medications, medical therapies, and medication management.
Participating in interdisciplinary treatment team discussions as appropriate.
Conducting medication regimen reviews and identifying opportunities for optimization.
Monitoring for adverse drug reactions, drug interactions, and medication-related safety concerns.
Assisting with formulary management and medication-use evaluations.
Supporting medication reconciliation processes and transitions of care.

Key qualifications and competencies include: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
Current and unrestricted Louisiana Pharmacist license.
Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and behavioral health treatment principles preferred.
Experience in hospital, behavioral health, acute care, or clinical pharmacy practice preferred.
