The RN provides direct and indirect patient care within the Cardiac Cath Lab, including assessing patients and administering medications. They assist physicians during procedures and operate specialized equipment while maintaining sterile techniques and radiation safety.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current Tennessee RN license and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Previous clinical experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab and a BSN or RCIS certification are preferred.
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and/or indirect care of patients. The RN must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
Education: Required: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Preferred: Previous clinical experience as an RN-CVS in a Cardiac Cath Lab
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) is preferred and highly encouraged after one year.
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and/or indirect patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Assesses patients, administers pharmacological drugs as ordered, performs procedures, operates equipment necessary for assigned patient care, and assists physician with procedures. The RN must be familiar with sterile technique, Cath lab equipment, procedures and radiation safety.
The RN must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The RN must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the Cardiac Cath Lab's policies and procedures.
