Requires graduation from an accredited imaging or radiology program and BLS certification upon hire. ARRT or ARMRIT certification is required within 12 months for entry-level roles or upon hire for advanced levels.

General Description: The MRI Technologist I position is an entry‑level role that, under direct supervision, performs routine MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols, safety guidelines, and quality standards. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Utilizing core knowledge, skills, abilities, and available resources, provides safe, high‑quality, efficient, and patient‑centered care and support services under routine or emergent conditions. Care is delivered under appropriate supervision across a variety of settings. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physician‑ordered exams to support appropriate imaging. Safely administers contrast per protocol Demonstrates the ability to recognize basic imaging artifacts and implement corrective measures independently or under guidance. Effectively communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and the care team to support desired clinical outcomes and service standards. Accurately transfers images and associated data to designated systems, completes basic technical documentation, and prepares studies for physician reporting. Carries out operator‑level quality control checks, cleaning, high‑level disinfection, and basic equipment maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory requirements. Accurately document in EMR/PACS Actively participates in continuing education, professional development, and research initiatives to maintain competencies and advance quality of care and treatment practices. Supports inventory tasks as needed to help ensure supplies are available. If trained and verified in Cardiac MRI, the following responsibilities apply: Acquire standard cardiac imaging sequences including: LV function imaging, Short-axis cine stacks, basic morphology and functional assessments Apply ECG gating techniques including: retrospective gating, prospective gating, real-time imaging as indicated Troubleshoot basic ECG signal issues Recognize common rhythm patterns General Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned. Education: Graduate of an accredited imaging, radiology or nuclear medicine program as defined by ARRT or ARMRIT or Completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program is accepted in lieu of other educational requirements.

Foundational knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, basic radiologic technology concepts, and MRI‑related terminology. Applies core MRI theory, practices, and techniques to perform examinations and complete basic post‑processing, analysis, and documentation with general supervision or assistance. Ability to work as part of a diverse team and communicate effectively with others. Ability to prioritize and complete assigned clinical and non‑clinical work tasks with guidance and direction, progressively developing independence in managing routine responsibilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain composed in stressful situations with guidance and support, progressively developing effective coping and prioritization skills. Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy Knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards. Displays consistency and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled. Ability to be sensitive to patients’ physical and psychological needs. Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes. If trained and verified in Cardiac MRI, the following knowledge, skills and ability requirements apply: Proficiency in breath hold coaching, patient positioning, cardiac anatomy identification Knowledge of cardiac MRI contraindications Knowledge and understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
