Organize and conduct an Occupational Therapy program focusing on upper extremity and hand rehabilitation for injured or handicapped patients. Evaluate patients, implement treatment plans, and collaborate with the rehabilitation team to manage patient progress and discharge.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, a valid Occupational Therapist license, and Basic Life Support certification. Candidates should have 0-1 years of experience and proficiency with computer systems.

Job Summary: Organizes and conducts an Occupational Therapy program upon referral from a physician to facilitate rehabilitation of the physically handicapped or injured person with a focus on Upper Extremity/Hand. Educates patients, families, students and the community in the Occupational Therapy practice. Participates as a team member in the day to day operations of the department. Essential Responsibilities: Evaluates patients, establishes goals and implements treatment program per department's procedures and standards of care in a supportive and caring environment. Appropriately assesses and manages pain in accordance with the established guidelines. Demonstrates the knowledge/skill necessary to provide care appropriate ranging in age from infant to elder Instructs patients and families in Occupational therapy procedures as part of a patient's on going program as needed. Adequately plans for patient's discharge involving other pertinent team members, when appropriate. Records and reports patient's progress for review by members of Rehabilitation team and other third parties and meets all regulatory requirements. Written documentation includes date, time and is legible. Ensures referrals, certifications and re-certifications are accurate and up to date. Works collaboratively with Program coordinator to assure approval is in place. Has knowledge and awareness of insurance rules-tracks visit and approval end dates in a method that allows them to manage caseload and seek extensions as needed. Works collaboratively with front desk staff on getting extensions and avoiding denials. Prepares on a daily basis patient statistics and changes. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required. License Occupational Therapist License required., and Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required. 0-1 years related work experience required in Occupational Therapy. Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
Certification in Hand Therapy. One year of specialization in Hand Therapy.
