Facilitate nutrition workshops and daily wellness moments for participants in the Bronx and Queens. Conduct community outreach and maintain detailed data tracking to support the Food as Medicine Initiative.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and a CRPA or CRPA-Provisional certification. Candidates should have lived experience with substance use recovery and the ability to work a flexible schedule.
Facilitate 2–3 client nutrition and wellness education workshops per week at PARC Bronx and PARC Queens Deliver a daily 3–5 minute Wellness Moment and Health Tip of the Day during morning group sessions Conduct interactive nutrition workshops and cooking demonstrations using provided recipes, including shopping for ingredients and escorting participants to relevant events Implement outreach plans and deliver presentations to local groups, agencies, and partners to recruit participants and promote the Food as Medicine Initiative Encourage participation in recovery-oriented, self-help, and pro-social groups to help participants link to natural support networks Document all services in alignment with regulatory requirements and submit accurate weekly and monthly reports to leadership Assist with a nutrition and wellness community assessment and maintain an up-to-date resource directory Attend and participate in weekly supervision, staff meetings, and professional training sessions
High School Diploma or GED Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or CRPA-Provisional certification Knowledge or shared lived experience with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and/or Stimulant Use Disorder (StUD) Knowledge and commitment to recovery-oriented systems of care Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds Experience with advocacy, outreach, engagement, self-help, recovery, and transitional supports Computer literacy including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records (EHR) Ability to travel throughout the required catchment area using public transportation for community and home visits Ability to work a flexible schedule including non-standard hours, some Saturdays, and evenings Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required
This is a full-time non-exempt role with an hourly rate of $26.37-$27.47 (annualized at 35 hours a week to $48,000-$50,000) with a full benefits package. This role is located in Mott Haven, Bronx and has a schedule of Mon - Fri, 10a to 6p, with some weekends and late nights #li-onsite
