How you'll contribute
A Central Sterile Technician (Non-Certified) who excels in this role
- Decontaminate, clean, and disinfect surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established infection control protocols
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage, ensuring all equipment meets safety and quality standards
- Assemble, wrap, and package instrument trays and supplies for sterilization
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves, ensuring proper parameters and documentation are maintained
- Label, track, and distribute sterile supplies and equipment to appropriate departments in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, biological testing, and inventory levels
- Store sterile instruments and supplies properly to preserve sterility and organization within the department

What we're looking for
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma (or equivalent). Additional requirements include:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) preferred
- Completion of at least 400 clinical hours in a hospital-based setting required (online-only certification programs are not accepted)
- Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
Skills & Abilities
- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Knowledge of sterile processing, infection control practices, and instrumentation handling
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in decontamination, sterilization, and tray assembly
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to support collaboration with clinical departments
