Provide direct patient care to individuals recovering from trauma, surgery, or acute medical conditions in an inpatient setting. Responsibilities include evaluating patient functionality, developing individualized therapy programs, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Requires a Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (or a Bachelor's prior to 2008) and current New Jersey state licensure. BLS certification is required, and NBCOT certification is strongly preferred.
Atlantic Health is searching for a qualified part-time Physical Therapist for their inpatient unit at Overlook Medical Center. This position is for 30 hours per week in which the w ill provide direct patient care to individuals recovering from trauma, surgery, or acute medical conditions in the acute care setting. The role involves evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and helping them regain essential daily living and w ork skills.
Responsibilities: include:
Evaluate patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional functionality, Develop individualized therapy programs tailored to each patient’s needs.
Implement evidence-based treatments to restore or enhance patients’ ability to perform daily activities, Provide adaptive strategies and equipment to support independence.
Work closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals, Participate in coordinated care and discharge planning.
Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and home care strategies. Train caregivers in safe mobility, transfers, and use of assistive devices.
Maintain accurate records of patient progress and treatment outcomes, Ensure compliance with hospital policies and health regulations.
Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in acute care occupational therapy. Participate in continuing education and training.
Other departmental duties/responsibilities as deemed required by the department manager.
