The Radiation Therapist primarily functions as a direct patient care provider, responsible for accurately and efficiently administering the prescribed course of Radiation Therapy treatments according to scheduling demands. This includes preparing the room and equipment, delivering the prescribed radiation dose while maintaining patient communication, monitoring for adverse reactions, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
Candidates must possess a one-year certificate from a college or technical school in Radiation Therapy certified by ARRT, along with at least six months of related experience or equivalent training. Essential competencies include proficiency in operating all Radiation Oncology equipment, adherence to safety and department policies, and excellent organizational and communication skills.
Description Radiation Therapist Century Cancer Centers | Colorado Springs, CO Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Pay Range: $40.00 – $48.00 per hour (Based on experience)
Century Cancer Centers is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Radiation Therapist to join our premier Radiation Oncology team in Colorado Springs. As a direct patient care provider, you will play a vital role in administering prescribed courses of radiation therapy, ensuring the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and compassionate care for our patients. Key Responsibilities Treatment Administration: Accurately review and deliver daily prescribed radiation treatments at a pace consistent with patient scheduling. Technical Precision: Set treatment unit parameters, obtain necessary port films, and utilize CT equipment as required. Patient Monitoring: Maintain constant visual and audible communication with patients during treatment; monitor for reactions and report findings to the Radiation Oncologist. Clinical Safety: Gathering and preparing setup devices and immobilization equipment while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Ensure all medical records and treatment charges are accurate and complete within the EMR system.
Education: High School Diploma/GED and a one-year certificate from an ARRT-certified college or technical school in Radiation Therapy.
Must be certified by the ARRT and ASRT.

One (1) year certificate from college or technical school in Radiation Therapy certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) and American Society of Radiologic Technologist (ASRT). BLS certification required, ACLS preferred. License and certification as required by state.
