The Restorative Nursing Assistant initiates and performs rehabilitation/restorative nursing interventions to help residents achieve and maintain optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning, focusing on independent and safe living.
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a valid CNA certification in the state of employment; six months of experience in a long-term care environment is preferred.
Description Restorative Nursing Assistant provides rehabilitation/restorative nursing interventions that promote the resident’s ability to adapt and adjust to living as independently and safely as is possible. This concept actively focuses on achieving and maintaining optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning. Restorative nursing interventions, except for use of Continuous Passive Motion (CMP), do not require a physician’s order.
All employees of Cascadia Healthcare are required to submit and be cleared to work in the facility per each state’s specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.
Other Functions Performs other duties as assigned. Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to communicate effectively with residents, their family members, and facility staff. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge or current rehabilitative techniques.
Education High school diploma or GED required.
Licenses/Certification Valid certification as a CNA in the state of employment. CPR certification preferred Restorative Assistant certification, preferred.
Experience Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
