The technologist performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to ensure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients, including confirming identity, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. Key duties involve radiation protection, operating radiographic and fluoroscopy units, producing diagnostic quality images, and maintaining equipment.
Candidates must be graduates of an approved two-year program and possess a minimum of six months of experience to be fully proficient. Required licensure includes a Radiography Technology (MA state license) or a Temporary Radiography Technology license, along with maintaining ongoing Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
