The Hospice Physician will function as a consultant to patients, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality palliative care, including pain and symptom management, while collaborating with the attending physician. Responsibilities also include assuring appropriate evaluation, certification, and recertification of terminal prognosis and serving as the physician member of the Professional Advisory Committee.
Candidates must possess a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school and hold a current, unencumbered license to practice in the assigned state. Board certification in hospice and palliative care is preferred, and applicants must have reliable transportation for home visits.
