The LPN provides direct patient care and implements nursing procedures under supervision. They assist with patient education and document care appropriately.
Candidates must be graduates of a State board School of Practical Nursing with current licensure. BLS certification is required before the end of the orientation period.
Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a broad array of nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. The individual provides direct patient care for diverse patient populations that vary in gender, age, socioeconomic status, education, physical and mental abilities, locations, sexual lifestyle, and racial and ethnic background. The LPN implements technical nursing procedures according to established policies and procedures and plan of care, assists and reinforces routine patient education, and documents patient care appropriately. The LPN communicates and interacts with other team members to facilitate teamwork and delivery of quality care.
Education: Graduate of State board School of Practical Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
