The Perioperative Nurse is responsible for delivering total nursing care to patients during various phases of the perioperative phase. They assist surgeons and surgical teams in caring for patients before, during, and after surgery.
Candidates must have an Associate Degree in Nursing and a current California Registered Nurse License. Preferred experience includes at least one year in surgery and current certifications in CPR, ACLS, and PALS.
Education: Associate Degree of Nursing Current California Registered Nurse License. Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS Prefered Experience: At least one (1) year experience with surgery. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrates a willingness to learn, accepts change, and updates knowledge of nursing as evidenced by continuing education. Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of Perioperative nursing care including, but not limited to proper identification of patients and procedures, along with their potential effects on the individual patient. Has the ability to recognize safety hazards and to initiate appropriate preventative and corrective action. Is self-directed in improving and acquiring the abilities and skills necessary to enhance job performance.
