Collaboratively manage critically ill patients in the ICU and perform essential procedures such as central lines, intubations, and arterial lines. Actively engage in daily multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate care with intensivists, hospitalists, and nursing teams.
Requires an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa and the authority to prescribe medications. Prior experience in ICU or critical care settings is preferred.
Collaboratively manage critically ill patients in the ICU, trained to perform essential procedures such as central lines, intubations, arterial lines, and dialysis catheter insertions Actively engage in daily multidisciplinary rounds in the ICU Collaborate daily with the intensivists, hospitalists, and other consulting physicians to coordinate care and cleary communicate goals and patient treatment plan with the intensive care unit nurses to facilitate care Work within the critical care team and ensure coordination with attending, subspecialists, and nursing team. Maintaining a high standard of continuity of care in handoff communication between shifts among providers and physicians Average census: 9-10 patients per shift Ability to Work as a team member to improve the health of the people and the communities we serve
