The Mammography Technologist assists physicians by preparing patients and operating mammographic equipment to obtain diagnostic images, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This role involves adhering to compliance standards, maintaining sterile equipment, performing quality control procedures, and critiquing images for necessary repeats.
Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and graduation from an ARRT-approved Radiography Program, along with ARRT certification in Radiography. Preferred qualifications include an Associate's Degree and one year of Mammography experience, with Mammography certification required within 12 months of hire.
Follows and supports OSHA regulations and uses universal precautions when required. Cleans examination surfaces between patients. Provides clean linen including sheets, gowns, pillowcases, and towels. Immediately cleans spills following universal precautions. Properly stores accessory equipment when not in use.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. 2 Year/Associate's Degree preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program required.
1 year of experience in Mammography preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
