The Personal Support Specialist is primarily responsible for providing direct assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) to help clients maintain independence in their homes. This includes hands-on personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and running necessary errands.
Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License and auto insurance, and be able to utilize a smartphone for Electronic Visit Verification. While a High School diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required, successful enrollment and completion of a PSS certification course within specified timeframes is mandatory.

Aroostook Home Health Services is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) in ALL areas of Aroostook County. Aroostook Home Health is a non-profit organization offering a variety of home-based home health care services for Aroostook County residents since 1983. This position offers flexible scheduling up to 40 hours per week depending on applicant and client availability.

PSS certification (must successfully be enrolled within 2 months of hire into PSS certification course and complete and obtain PSS certification within 9 months of hire) Experience working with chronically ill, disabled or elderly preferred Must be able to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions Must be able to demonstrate competency in skills needed to care for clients in their home Must be able to work independently and to organize work efficiently Must be able to maintain client confidentiality Must be able to communicate and cooperate effectively Must have maturity to deal effectively with the job
