The Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) is responsible for using their recovery story to help consumers develop skills necessary for recovery. They assist consumers in setting personal goals, provide peer support services, and maintain accurate documentation of service provision.
The CPS must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and complete required Kansas Certified Peer Support Trainings within one year of employment. They should also have basic computer skills and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and consumers.
