The Occupational Therapist develops, administers, and implements therapeutic services to help patients regain optimal function in daily activities, taking responsibility for evaluating functional status and interpreting the physician's plan of care. This role involves completing assessments, communicating observations to the interdisciplinary team, providing education, and maintaining accurate documentation of all activities.
Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited occupational therapy curriculum, eligibility for the National Registration Examination, licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Oregon, a valid driver's license, current BLS certification, and proof of auto insurance. Candidates must also possess two years of appropriate experience as an occupational therapist.

Wage Compensation - Min: $ 99,199.55 Max: $ 138,879.38 The Occupational Therapist is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team in developing, administering and implementing the therapeutic services designed to help patients regain their optimal level of function in meaningful daily activities including self-care, leisure and work. The Occupational Therapist will be under the supervision of the Home Health and Hospice Manager.
Accept responsibility for evaluation of the patient’s functional status and for interpretations and implementation of the physician’s plan of care. Complete assessment/reassessment and makes decisions based upon objective tests and measurements. Communicate observations, facts and treatment suggestions as an interdisciplinary team member, individually and through team meetings to ensure coordination of the plan of care. Provide education and direction to patients and coworkers as appropriate. Work independently and cooperatively. Recognize and protect patient rights. Convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing grief, pain or trauma. Complete accurate and concise documentation of all communications, coordination and treatment activity. Adapt to emergency situations, be alert to changes in the patient’s condition. The employee supports the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures. Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum). Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education: Required: Is a graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association. Is eligible for the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
