The veterinarian will diagnose and treat animals, perform surgeries, and administer vaccinations. They are also responsible for advising pet owners on general care and collaborating with the team to provide high-quality medical services.
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree and be licensed to practice in the state of employment. Strong communication skills, compassion for animals, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure are required.

Meisels Animal Hospital, a long-standing pillar of the Elmwood Park community, is a fully renovated, 4,000 square foot facility located a short drive from NYC! The veterinarians and staff at Meisels Animal Hospital have provided the best quality care to patients in the Elmwood Park area since its founding in 1946. Currently a two-veterinarian practice with a highly skilled and stable staff, Meisels has an immediate need for an additional veterinarian, due to the planned retirement of our current Medical Director in late 2022. Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems Treat and dress wounds Perform surgery on animals Test for and vaccinate against diseases Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments Prescribe medication Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal Strong fondness and understanding of animals Good communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of animal behavior Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
