The Residential Counselor provides direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting, focusing on building independence skills or increasing quality of life. Duties include administering medication, implementing treatment plans, assisting with daily living activities like chores and cooking, and providing community transportation for outings.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and be at least 21 years old with a valid US driver's license held for a minimum of six months. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or brain injuries is strongly preferred, alongside strong time management and writing skills.
Schedule: Sun 9am-11pm, Mon 2pm-11pm, Tue 3pm-11pm and Wed 2pm-11pm
$21.75 / hour
Bonus: $3000; $1500 at the completion of 90 days and $1500 at the completion of 6months
As a Residential Counselor, you will provide direct support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a small group residential setting or an individual living arrangement. In your role you will work together with the people we serve, their families, friends, employers, and other support staff to transform their lives by either building independence skills or increasing each person's quality of life.
Residential Counselors have a range of duties include administrating medication under the Medication Administration Plan (MAP), implementing treatment plans, and assisting people with activities of daily living, such as household chores and cooking. You also strengthen residents' connection to their community by providing transportation on outings such as shopping and doctor's appointments.
