The counselor provides support to individuals in a behavioral health setting, teaching skills to enhance independence and quality of life through rehabilitative and behavioral interventions. Key duties include assisting with intake, monitoring client status, providing necessary transportation, and ensuring program site safety and maintenance.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, though one to two years of job-specific experience in human services is preferred. Applicants must be at least 21, possess a valid driver's license for at least one year, and be able to pass a driver's screening background check.
