Job description

UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health is offering 13-week travel contracts for RNs at Geneva General Hospital.

RN ED

Health Insurance available at the first of the month, after 30 days Day/Night and Weekend Rotations 12 hour shifts 7a-7p/7p-7a

Requirements

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

License: Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Nurse

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Basic Coronary Care

Experience

2-years recent Emergency Department experience required. Moderate Sedation Competency, analytical skills to assess, prepare, implement and evaluate the outcomes of the plan of care for patients / families. Demonstrated the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and the ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner. The ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Computer literacy

Responsibility Summary

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families.
The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patients' episode.
The Registered Nurse in Intensive Care develops specialized skills to care for critically ill unstable patients.
The RN develops a strong working knowledge of life support machines, cardiac monitoring systems and other life-preserving medical equipment and nursing interventions essential for a critical care nurse.
The RN is accountable for patient family education to assist the patient and family in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.
The Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment.
