The Medical Assistant is responsible for managing patient interactions and administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. They must maintain professionalism and confidentiality while collaborating with staff and families to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and BLS certification through RQI. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant school and prior experience in a physician's office are preferred.
Minimum: High School Degree or equivalent
Graduate from an accredited school for Medical Assistant.
Minimum: BLS required through RQI
Certification obtained from a Medical Assistant School licensed by New York State preferred.
Prior experience in a physician office or other medical setting, or completion of accredited school for Medical Assistants.
The Medical Assistant must demonstrate the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain professionalism and courtesy when interacting with patients, families, and staff. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are essential to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The role requires an effective team player who fosters a collaborative work environment through positive role modeling.
Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and basic office software. Candidates should be computer literate to manage tasks efficiently
