CT Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes, performing computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures, and acquiring necessary data for diagnosis and interpretation. They also prepare, administer, and document medications and radiation exposure while ensuring patient safety and image quality.
Applicants must be certified by ARRT or NMTCB upon hire, and new graduates must obtain ARRT-R or NMTCB registry before their first day. A graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology is required, and those hired after a specific date must advance to level 2 certification within 24 months.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) OR Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) need upon hire. New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry or NMTCB prior to first day of employment. Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps required for advancing to level 2, including advanced certification, within 24 months of hire.
