The main function is to act as a caregiver assuming responsibility and accountability for a group of patients under the supervision or direction of a registered nurse. This role reports directly to the Director of the assigned Department.
Applicants must be a graduate of a Practical Nursing Program registered by the New York State Education or another state's licensing authority. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire, with Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required only for critical care units.

Appreciable physical effort required. Moving, lifting and assisting patients whose size and physical abilities can vary greatly. Some lifting, reaching and stooping. Required to be on feet much of the time.
