The provider will deliver comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, including preventive care, chronic disease management, acute care, and routine wellness visits. Responsibilities involve conducting physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, ordering tests, and developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or an RN with a Master's degree in nursing, certified as a Family and/or Adult Nurse Practitioner. Required credentials include a current NC PA License (or eligibility), DEA registration, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Primary Care team in Andrews, NC. This role offers the opportunity to practice full‑spectrum outpatient primary care within a supportive, patient-centered environment serving a rural mountain community. The ideal candidate is dedicated to building long-term patient relationships, promoting wellness, and improving access to healthcare in the region.
In this role, the provider will deliver comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, offering preventive care, chronic disease management, acute care, and routine wellness visits. They will conduct physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans that align with evidence-based guidelines. The provider will also manage chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, COPD, and heart disease, ensuring continuity and coordination of care with physicians, specialists, and ancillary services within the Erlanger Health System.
Required: Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the American Academy of Physician Assistant. BS/BA required or RN with a Master's degree in nursing certification in family and/or adult nurse practitioner. Graduate of a nationally accredited school of nursing
Preferred Experience: Primary Care background preferred
The Mid-Level Provider provides for the continuous and comprehensive management of a broad range of health services including but not limited to medical & surgical illnesses under the supervision of the supervising physician and per state regulations.
