The technologist is responsible for performing safe, timely, and accurate ultrasound studies under medical supervision, including various vascular assessments like abdominal aortic, carotid, and extremity mapping, to meet accreditation standards. They must also consult with physicians regarding technical correlations for surgical and post-operative procedures.
Candidates must obtain or hold RVT certification from ARDMS or an equivalent within 12 months of hire and demonstrate competence in scanning non-invasive vascular ultrasound studies. Additionally, BLS certification is required within 14 days of hire before direct patient care, along with the ability to demonstrate normal anatomy and abnormal pathology.
Must hold or obtain current licensure as an RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent within 12 months of hire and maintain current licensure. Competent in scanning non-invasive vascular ultrasound studies. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Must be able to demonstrate specific normal anatomy and abnormal pathology.
