This role involves performing diverse laboratory functions including registration, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and clerical duties to ensure accurate collection, accessioning, and preparation of laboratory specimens. Responsibilities also include operating the automated line, handling specimen drop-offs, answering calls, and preparing specimens for reference labs.
A High School Diploma or GED is required, though a certification from a medical assistant, military medical, or laboratory assistant program is preferred. Candidates must possess strong customer interaction skills, computer data entry knowledge, good telephone communication, and basic laboratory technique understanding for specimen handling.
