DSPs are responsible for providing direct care, skill-building support, and opportunities to individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities, mental health, or substance abuse issues, focusing on areas like motor skills, communication, and ADLs. Key duties include assisting with goal completion, providing personal care, safely transporting individuals, accompanying them to community activities, and completing timely electronic documentation.
Candidates must possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and be at least 18 years old, holding a valid driver's license with reliable transportation. Successful completion of background checks and health screenings, along with proficiency in technology and the ability to meet physical demands, are mandatory.
