The Registered Dialysis Dietitian will be responsible for assessing and educating patients on diet, kidney disease, and nutrition's impact on treatment, while also developing individualized care plans with the interdisciplinary team. This includes creating and adjusting diet prescriptions and communicating findings with physicians and facility staff.
Candidates must be a Registered Dietitian with a minimum of one year of professional clinical nutrition experience, including previous renal experience. Required competencies include demonstrated leadership, strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
As a Dialysis Registered Dietitian, you'll be responsible for: Assessing and educating patients on their diet, kidney disease, and how nutrition impacts their treatment. Providing detailed, patient-specific education on lab results, fluid status, and nutritional needs to patients, families, and caregivers. Conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments and helping to develop individualized care plans with the interdisciplinary team. Creating and adjusting diet prescriptions according to standard practice. Communicating with physicians and facility staff about lab results and recommended treatment changes. Participating in staff and care plan meetings to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
EDUCATION & LICENSURE Registered Dietitian as per Commission on Dietetic Registration Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition encouraged. Current licensure in good standing with the State of Texas. EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS Minimum of 1 year professional work experience in clinical nutrition as a Registered Dietitian. Previous renal experience required. Demonstrated leadership competencies and skills for the position, including ability to teach, strong organizational skills, excellent communication, customer service, relationship development, results orientation, team building and decision making. Able to perform responsibilities with minimum supervision. Basic computer skills required.
