The technologist performs MRI or CT scans according to protocol and physician specifications, including using high-pressure contrast material injection on patients of varying ages. Duties involve monitoring safety precautions, producing diagnostic quality images, processing them to PACS, and ensuring proper radiation protection.
Candidates need a Specialized Diploma from an accredited Radiography program or equivalent experience in CT and/or MRI, demonstrating proficiency in all areas of CT and MRI imaging. Required credentials include Pennsylvania State Radiologic Technologist registration upon hire, and ARRT or ARMRIT certification in CT or MRI within one year, along with Basic Life Support certification.
Specialized Diploma Graduate of accredited Radiography program or equivalent 1 year of experience in CT and/or MRI. Ability to perform imaging examinations using established protocols through completion. Demonstrated proficiency in all areas CT and MRI. Ability to work in stressful situations. High degree of maturity and exercises individual judgment in working with patients, equipment, and personnel that are involved in MRI and CT exams. Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, families, physicians, and nursing personnel.
