The Advanced Practice Provider will collaborate with physicians to deliver comprehensive pulmonary and critical care services in an inpatient setting, focusing on acute and chronic pulmonary conditions and intensive care unit management. Essential duties include conducting comprehensive patient assessments, managing ventilators, performing procedures like thoracentesis, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Candidates must possess a Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program, along with current Texas licensure or eligibility, and national certification in an applicable specialty. Preferred qualifications include 1–2 years of experience in pulmonary, critical care, or hospital medicine, especially within an academic medical center.

UTMB is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider within the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. The APP will work collaboratively with physicians to provide comprehensive pulmonary and critical care services across an inpatient setting. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated clinician who values teamwork, education, and quality improvement in an academic environment.
Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Current licensure (or eligibility) as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of Texas. National certification in an applicable specialty area (e.g., Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP, or NCCPA-certified PA-C). Current BLS and ACLS certification.
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in pulmonary, critical care, or hospital medicine. Experience in an academic medical center or teaching environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Commensurate with experience.
