The Mammography Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic mammographic procedures following established protocols to aid the referring physician in diagnosis and treatment. This involves operating digital tomosynthesis mammography equipment and performing procedures including x-ray and mammography, with opportunities for training in DEXA, stereotactic/needle localization, and Contrast Enhanced Mammography.
Candidates must be graduates of an approved Radiography program and possess a Connecticut State Radiographer's License, along with the ARRT (R) certification; ARRT (M) is preferred. Current experience in x-ray and mammography, especially in acute care settings involving invasive procedures, is highly preferred.
