Responsible for the preparation and administration of radioactive materials for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Performs patient scanning using gamma cameras to obtain diagnostic images of various organ systems.
Requires an Associate Degree or equivalent and current ARRT (R) (NM) or NMTCB as CNMT registry. Must hold a current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
This position is accountable for the preparation and administration of radioactive materials for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Check out this video and learn more and discover the “Power of We.” As a Nuclear Medicine Tech at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by: Perform a variety of Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing multiple types of gamma cameras, utilizing proper injection techniques while injecting radioisotopes. Perform IV puncture, and administer radiopharmaceuticals via IV when indicated. Prepare exam room, communicate with the patient, obtain informed consent when necessary, and request an accurate clinical history as necessary for the exam. Receive patients, explain method of examination, and position patient. Select appropriate imaging techniques and protocols to complete the exam. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and other medications in accordance with state and federal regulations. Required Qualifications Associate Degree or equivalent from two-year College or Technical School; or a minimum of one (1) year minimum related experience and/or training. Current ARRT (R) (NM) or NMTCB as CNMT registry. Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
At least one (1) year of experience in Nuclear Medicine Hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking.
