The Medical Assistant will provide direct and indirect care to patients, including performing intake procedures, placing heart monitors, and assisting in emergency situations. Additional duties include clerical support and participating in performance improvement projects.
Candidates must graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program and hold a certification from recognized bodies. A high school diploma or GED is required, and experience levels vary based on the position level.
Perform intake with patients to include vital signs, visit information, medication review, learning assessment and other clinical information as indicated Placement of heart monitors – event and holters – Prepare packets, download monitors, verify and correct order per protocol Phlebotomy, perform EKG, Muse, gajema, assist staff in emergency situations, assist in clerical area Participates in performance improvement projects Attain prior authorizations for medications Float in clinic to cover patient and provider needs as delegated by nurse manager, health center administrator, charge nurse, or nurse team lead. Reminder calls, confirm appoints, no show list Stock rooms, clean rooms, equipment, patient areas Diagnostics – prep patients, start IV
