The Physical Therapy Assistant implements the patient's individualized treatment plan established by the primary physical therapist to optimize patient functional abilities and skills. This role involves working with the rehabilitation team, instructing patients and caregivers on treatment techniques, and providing required written documentation.
Candidates must be a graduate of an APTA accredited school for physical therapy and possess a current California Physical Therapy Assistant License and AHA-approved Healthcare Provider BLS Certification. Essential abilities include demonstrating respectful communication, ensuring patient privacy, and actively involving parents or guardians in care.
