The Staff Nurse will apply nursing theory to assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate patient responses to illness, while also administering procedural sedation and monitoring patients during procedures in a Minor Room setting. Responsibilities include preoperative screening, patient education, assisting with ophthalmology procedures, and collaboratively coordinating the continuum of care across settings.
Candidates must possess a current Iowa nursing license and demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, along with strong customer service abilities. Required education is an Associate’s Degree in Nursing or higher, with experience in minor room coverage, triage, pre-op teaching, and procedural sedation being preferred.
Education An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required Required Qualifications: Current license to practice in the state of Iowa by the time of hire Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions Demonstrates excellent customer service skills General computer skills are required Coverage in minor room/procedure suite, triage, and pre op teaching, procedural sedation experience preferred Desired Qualifications: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing is highly desired If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable
